Business News From The Wall Street Journal

Wall Street is an eight-block long street in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan, New York City. It runs from Broadway in the west to South Street and the East River at the east.

The phrase “Wall Street” now has grown to be a generic metonym for all of the financial markets of America, especially the American financial markets, New York centered financial interests, or even the Financial District itself. Since the days of the robber barons there have been consolidation and integration of Wall Street interests.

Today you find Wall Street interests blending with those of the City of New York and London. It’s all tracked in The Wall Street Journal.

Wall Street Journal

Wall Street Journal is a privately held company that is a public media provider of business information.

This publication has been a part of the News Corp since 1994. Business Week is a business magazine that is published every year. Financial Times is a quarterly newsletter that publishes business news and features special reports every quarter. All these are part of the Wall Street Journal’s content.

There are many business publications on the market but few are of the level of expertise and coverage that the Wall Street Journal offers its readers. Other business journals tend to be more generalized and cover almost all aspects of business.

But rarely will you find a daily business paper that is devoted exclusively to the business world. They will also tend to be more economically oriented and less focused on Wall Street.

As part of its investigation of mergers and acquisitions, the Wall Street Journal takes an in depth look at the industries in which the companies in merging. This includes not only the industry in which the companies compete but also the industry in which they plan to merge.

The Wall Street Journal also publishes an annual ranking of the largest publicly traded companies based on their stock performance. The company with the most shares is designated as the largest.

This puts the Journal at an advantage when it comes to conveying information on mergers and acquisitions. Since the shares of the top companies move very frequently, it is often possible to buy shares from the parent company before the acquisition transaction closes.

The Wall Street Journal also publishes several other business related periodicals. Some of these are business magazines that are devoted strictly to business. Others have financial articles that are focused upon finance, economics or business trends.

A few are purely informative and do not have a bearing on the actual business of their contributors. These are the kinds of publications that people buy subscriptions for in large amounts.

In addition, The Wall Street Journal publishes a number of short business articles every quarter. These range anywhere from six to ten pages and deal with a single issue or specific financial issue.

Most of these have interesting insights into the issue concerned and give recommendations on how investors should view the issue.

A number of newspapers publish business news that is relevant only to a city, region or states. They do not carry information that is relevant for international trade or international finance.

This is one reason why the Wall Street Journal and other business magazines are much more popular among businesses and investment professionals than the broad business magazines that also include regular feature articles on various sectors, industries and financial issues.

There is also a section within the Wall Street Journal that features business news from major financial markets such as the New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ and other stock exchanges. It does not, however, have a dedicated business section.

A number of newspapers also publish financial sections and business sections that give some thought to the business sector. The Financial Times, for example, has a business section that gives some business advice.
